Re-shaping UK Life Science commercialisation Strategy

· Announcements,Life Science

The Research & Development Society is excited to announce a new programme focused on advancing the effective commercialisation of UK life science products to enhance global healthcare (including the NHS and beyond). We are proud to say we are embarking on this venture with a set of partners from across the country and a wealth of talent and expertise. Today we are announcing the first event of the programme, hosted and backed by our partner organisation, Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst. Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst is one of the UK's leading ventures in the Life Sciences and a leading presence within the 'Golden Triangle'.

Our programme will develop a comprehensive mapping of the current state of UK life sciences SMEs, beginning with a focus around three regional clusters in Stevenage (and the wider 'Golden Triangle'), Greater Manchester and the West of England (Starting with Bristol and the surrounding authorities). Our analysis will feed into a series of workshops, to be held with each of our main partners to identify the priority issues in UK life science commercialisation and to define and recommend a set of high impact solutions to increase the success rate of commercial ventures in this space.

Over the coming weeks, we will be collecting and analysing data from across the country and kicking off the series with our first workshop on Tuesday 20th May, held at Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst campus. Here we will be presenting our findings and hearing contributions from stakeholders across the industry.

Should you like to be involved in facilitating data collection in your own cluster or wish to engage with our workshops please contact jamie.phadke@rdsoc.org, with an explanation of your interest in this initiative and what you feel you can bring to the conversation. Stay tuned for more announcements in the coming weeks.
